CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETATION

At consecutive interpretation a speaker takes logical breaks in his speech in order to give an interpreter a possibility to convey meaning of the said on a foreign language. Consecutive interpretation as a rule is rather effective while holding arrangements with small enough number of participants, such as:

- business negotiations;

- meetings, seminars, round table;

- briefings, press conferences, presentations, exhibitions;

- accompanying of foreign visitors;

- drink receptions, formal arrangements;

- installation and setup of equipment with help of foreign specialists;

- presence of an interpreter at court sessions, at signing documents with notarization and required in such cases reading aloud of the same and at other legal arrangements as well.

Advantages of consecutive interpretation:

- consecutive interpretation does not require additional equipment;

- it essential at active character of negotiations with big number of moves, transfers, for example at work on industrial objects, at negotiations and presentations, at accompanying of foreign delegations;

- using this type of interpretation talkers get additional time, which could be useful for deeper consideration of an issue (for instance, during business negotiations).

Please be aware that this type of interpretation doubles time of communication (speech) because performed during breaks in speech of a speaker.
